How to Make PED in
Entropia Universe
Entropia Universe is a crazy place unlike any other MMO video game in existence.
The vast majority of players that start off here won't get very far and will most likely quit playing within a month. Advancement in Entropia Universe requires knowledge, research and patience. If you don't want to wait you better be ready to pay for it, big time!
Don't be lured in with what the game or planet websites told you when you signed up. Trying to make it big here is very hard but when played properly Entropia Universe can be one of the most fulfilling gaming experiences out there.
When I first joined Entropia Universe (2009) it was a very different game than it is today and maybe even harder to get by without depositing. I was given a guide that explained the basics and found it very useful but over the years it became out of date and eventually lost. I built this website as a place to document and share the methods of earning PED that I have used in the past and to hopefully help some people along the way.
It's dangerous to go alone! Take this advice.
More useful information can be found on Entropia Wiki and Entropia Planets Wiki as well as the Links and Tools page of this website.

What is entropia universe?
Entropia Universe is a Sci-Fi Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) Virtual Universe developed by the Swedish video game company MindArk. The game is free to play but in game currency, the Project Entropia Dollar or PED can be purchased through an in game service. What makes this game unique is that once money has been deposited into the game, it can be withdrawn back to a real world bank account at a fixed exchange rate of 10:1 to the U.S. Dollar. It is often referred to as a real cash economy (RCE).
The game has a lot of the elements you would expect in an MMORPG. It is set in the future where humans have colonized several alien planets. There are a few planets to choose from in Entropia Universe, each with their own themes, missions and stories. Planets sometimes look and feel like entirely different games but can all be accessed from each other by flying through space in spacecraft. Planet Calypso, was the first one added to the universe and is the most populated of the planets in the game. Most of the activities we're going to talk about in this guide will work on any planet but some are planet specific.
Players start off at a new arrival area where they can follow simple missions, obtain rookie items and learn about the basic activities in the game before being sent to their home planets. The three major professions are hunting, mining and crafting. This is what most people do although there are many other professions to choose from such as animal taming, coloring items, hair styling, healing... The list goes on. Besides the actual professions officially supported in the game, people have also created their own professions, we can call these "pseudo-professions" since they aren't talked about in tutorials and don't award any skills.
Most of the more common professions and activities in Entropia Universe work similarly to a slot machine where the player will spend a certain amount of money to do a task, like kill an animal to receive some sort of loot in return. The vast majority of the time the loot you get won't be worth the PED you spent to get it and thus your PED balance will keep falling until you have to deposit again to keep going. Every once in a while you can kill a mob, craft an item or find a mining deposit of high value and these are advertised to everyone as a way to entice other people to spent PED doing those activities. Those are called Globals or HoFs (Hall of Fame) and are displayed to everyone in a small ticker window on your game screen. Because of all this, some people have compared Entropia Universe to an online casino. This may be partially accurate but I believe that there are enough differences to differentiate Entropia Universe from an actual online casino.
You can minimize your losses by making sure you have efficient tools, guns, healing devices and armor sets that give you the most effect per PED spent. Carefully calculating the economic efficiency of your gear to the activity you are doing is important. For example: you don't want to hunt overpowered mobs where you'll constantly need to spend money healing yourself, or hunt small creatures with expensive, high end armor and overpowered weapons. Taking the time to sell items to other players for the best possible price rather than selling them to the Trade Terminal (TT) will also give you a bit of extra PED.
When your avatar gains skill, tasks will become more efficient and more successful but skill will never become high enough to guarantee profits. If you wish to continue your profession beyond what you can with free mission items you will need to find a way to get PED to fund your adventures. Hopefully this guide will help you do just that and to experience what Entropia Universe has to offer.

waypoints and how to use them
In this guide you will see in-game coordinates for the locations being discussed. They will be in the same format as used in the game and will look like this:
/wp [Planet name, 12345, 12345, 123, Waypoint Name
To add them to your in-game map simply copy the full waypoint (including "/wp") and paste it in your game chat. When you press enter, it will be added to your map.
Depositing
Alright, so you probably didn't want to hear about this but depositing is the easiest and fastest way to get PED in Entropia Universe. Some free to play games with credit purchase systems separate the regular game currency and the purchased or premium credits, but in Entropia Universe there is only one currency the all mighty PED. To deposit you will need to purchase PED using a credit card or one of the other supported services. You can do this using the in game deposit service.
Once purchased, PED will be added to your PED Card ready to be spent on whatever you want. Easy as that! If you don't want to spend any real money to play read on but it can get tedious at times. Entropia Universe has a lot of RPG elements and that includes the grind. A lot of players have gone very far without paying anything at all to play, better yet they had fun doing it.
Sweating
What is sweating?
Sweating the quintessential newcomer profession, is the process of extracting Vibrant Sweat from an animal. Vibrant Sweat is used in the manufacturing process of things like Mind Essence and is required for some missions. It was added to the game as a way to give new players a chance to make a bit of PED to try things out. Now it has become a commercial enterprise.

How to sweat?
To sweat you need two things. The first is an item that all players start with, the VSE MK1.
To sweat you need two things. The first is an item that all players start with, the VSE MK1.
This item should be in the tools section of your inventory and can be equipped and fired just like a gun. The second thing you need is an animal (Sometimes called a mob), it won't work on NPCs, mutants, robots... Point the VSE MK1 at the animal and start clicking. It may not work right away but keep trying, there's a high failure rate. An effect will start once sweat is being gathered and a loot window will pop up with sweat in it once it is successful.
The amount of sweat an animal will give is equal to it's health and will give no more once it runs out. Do this over and over again until you gather a few thousand units of sweat and congratulations. You're now a professional newbie!
If you want to give your clicking finger a break you can enable the “Toggle Auto-Use Tool” function. It is available in the action library by pressing “Y”.
While sweating, being hit by an attack or aiming your VSE MK1 away from the mob you are sweating for too long will cause the process to fail. If you lock onto the target animal and use the "auto use tool" function, the process becomes semi-automated.
Where to sweat?
You can sweat pretty much any animal anywhere but that doesn't mean anywhere is a good place to do it. On Calypso, Most people start sweating alone at Camp Icarus /wp [Calypso, 63221, 74372, 113, Camp Icarus] with puny creatures but the most efficient way to gather sweat is to find a high health, low damage animal and sweat it with a large group of people. An average amount you can aim for sweating in a proper group is about 500 sweat per hour.
The largest assembly of sweaters in Entropia Universe is usually on Calypso at ~Royal Club~ /wp [Calypso, 30187, 39714, 170, ~Royal Club~] and secondly at Boreas /wp [Calypso, 74369, 67304, 141, Boreas] but other groups can pop up at other locations.
Many of the other planets have sweating spots that heal you for free. Here are some of their locations.
On Planet Arkadia, there is a group sweating location at the Celeste Outpost located at /wp [Arkadia, 27274, 10919, 155, Celeste Outpost]. At this location, there is a sweat circle area that will heal you automatically if you die from within that area.
On Planet Cyrene the popular sweating location is below the Rookie Training Area Teleporter near /wp [Planet Cyrene, 138929, 77880, 106, Waypoint]. You can get your free healing by standing under the canopy where the terminals are located.
Planet Next Island has two sweating areas that provide free healing. The first one is at the revive area below the Crystal Peak teleporter at /wp [Next Island, 136822, 83451, 112, Crystal Peak Revive]. The second one is near the Sparta teleporter at /wp [Ancient Greece, 35652, 19280, 141, Sparta] in Ancient Greece. Ancient Greece is a separate continent accesses through the Orpheus' Cave teleporter on Next Island. These locations have free healing at the revive terminal. Just stand next to the revive terminal and you'll see your health regenerate automatically.
Planet Toulan has an area with free healing that can be used for sweating or swunting at
/wp [Planet Toulan, 134252, 93338, 104, Sweating Area]. The nearby creatures aren't very strong so they make a good candidate for solo-swunting especially since Toulan lacks the population needed to form regular sweating groups. The area is a short hike from a turret so you will probably have to do the killing yourself. Get your healing by standing in the glowing ball.
Solo-Sweating
You can sweat creatures by yourself if your evade and health are high enough. All you need to do is find a small creature that will allow you to survive long enough to sweat. This can be difficult at first but as you gain Health and Evade skill it becomes easier and you are able to solo-sweat larger and larger creatures. While solo-sweating you will gather much less sweat per hour compared to a properly functioning group but you will gain much more skills. Solo-sweating is popular on planets that lack the sufficient population to form regular sweating groups or when you want to gain more skills than sweat.
If your only goal is to make PED while sweating then you may want to find a group but if you want to gain skills like Evade while making PED as a byproduct you should consider sweating by yourself.
You can combine sweating and hunting, this is detailed below.
Industry Best Practices
When group sweating, it is best to circle the mob at an even distance so it doesn't run around too much. If done properly the mob will stay where it is and rotate as it attacks different people. With enough people the mob won't have enough time to kill anyone as it keeps switching between targets; letting injured players regenerate their health naturally. Teamwork is key.
Once a mob has no more sweat to give (dry) it can be killed or brought to the nearby turret for free disposal. The player the mob is attacking is the one that has to run to the turret with it, it won't chase anyone else.
Sometimes when a mob is stuck and unable to hit the player it is attacking it will enter a state where it can't be hurt or sweated. A messy disorganized sweating circle increases the chance of a mob entering this state. The person the mob is attacking needs to get closer and be hit by the mob to get it out of that state. Alternatively, the players blocking the mob's path can move and let it through. Sometimes when a mob is stuck in this state and people aren't moving out of the way, you can run into the players blocking it's path. This jostles them around and lets the mob through.
Trying to sweat too many mobs for the group size will increase the damage players will receive but inversely if there are too many players for a single mob, the mob will run out of sweat very quickly.
Sweating too far or too close to the mob can cause interruptions in sweating. Sweating too close to a turret can result in your mob repeatedly being killed prematurely. A common defense used to disrupt people sweating too close to the turret is to spawn a vehicle between them and the group.
Sweating while Away From Keyboard (AFK) is when someone has their avatar sweating automatically while they're away from their computer. Entropia Universe makes this easy with the "Auto-Use Tool" and "Auto-Aim" functions. You can tell when there are a lot of AFK sweaters around when the sweating area becomes full of people standing in random areas shooting their VSE MK1 at nothing. AFK sweating can get in the way of active sweating and slow down the process for the whole group. With too many AFK sweater, it becomes very difficult to bring dry mobs to the turret.
Sweating with armor on will decrease the damage you take and increase your defensive skill gains but you'll end up having to pay to get your armor repaired. With some more expensive sets, repairs can be more than the money you'll make sweating so most people just sweat in plain clothes unless you're sweating to increase defensive skills.
Sweat Gathering Skill doesn't have much if any effect on the chances of gathering sweat however other skills like Evade and your Health definitely do.
Planet Next Island has a daily missions for gathering sweat. See the mission section of this guide for more information.
Need a boost?
There are various rings that give your avatar buff effects like faster running, increased health, faster regeneration, etc... Some are very expensive but common ones like the Aeglic Ring, Adjusted are quite affordable.

The Aeglic rings increase your avatar's health and regeneration rate which makes them very useful for both hunting and sweating. As of right now, rings do not decay once equipped so there's no operating cost associated with them. If you die a lot while sweating and feel like your health points could benefit from a boost, consider looking into an Aeglic Ring. The auction almost always has rings for sale.
What to do with sweat?
Well, you sell it of course!
OR:
Sweat is refined with Force Nexus to make Mind Essence, a vital Mind Force consumable. If you're interested in mining; you can gather what Force Nexus you can find and refine it yourself with your collected sweat.
Some blueprints like the Lesser Elysia Blueprint require sweat. The Lesser Elysia Blueprint also requires the easy to mine ore Lysterium which would give you a good introduction to both the construction and mining professions if you want to try those.
You should check with others or read the trade channel to see what the going rate for sweat is so you sell at a fair price. Re-sellers purchase sweat at a low price to then sell it again at the regular market price. Some people call this scamming but it's up to you to make sure the price you're selling your sweat for is fair.
Now and then there will be an event where players purchase sweat from new players at a higher price than the regular market value.
Note that sweat has a Trade Terminal (TT) value of 1 cent per 1000 units, don't sell it to a trade terminal, it's a waste of sweat.
Why keep sweating?
Sweating is a long and sometimes tedious process, the more you sweat the more PED you can make but it's not much so why keep going? Besides making PED, group sweating can be a good place to meet and talk to people. You never know who will show up there. Sweating is also a good way to gain skills. Sweat Gathering Skill isn't very useful, it doesn't even help with sweating but the other skills you get while sweating are. Evade and Concentration are good ones, you also get other skills while being attacked by animals. All skills are good skills.
If you are looking for a slight change you can always try getting a group together to sweat a mob that inflicts ranged damage (shoots stuff). In this case the amount of sweat you get won't change but instead of gaining Evade skill you will gain Dodge, a vital PvP skill.
Swunting
Swunting is a combination of hunting and sweating, and can be done alone or in a team. How this works is you sweat a creature until it can give no more sweat then you kill it for loot. This helps get every last bit PEC out of the mobs you're hunting for an extra bonus and can help reduce losses or even turn a small profit. Swunting teams often impose DPS (Damage per Second) limit on the weapons the team members can use to help keep members on par with each other.

Gathering
fruits, stones and Common dung
What is walking for Fruits, Stones and Common Dung?
Walking (or running) for fruits, stones and common dung is one of those pseudo-professions we mentioned earlier and It's pretty much what the title says. You walk around and pick up naturally spawned fruits and stones off the ground. Not hard. There are different types of naturally occurring fruits and stones.
Bombardo, Caroot, Haimoros and Papplon are the kinds of fruit, pictured below.

You can also find Common Dung on the ground but there's no word about the Uncommon Dung... Too bad.
On the planet Next Island you will also find Broken Elysian Technology. This Item only appears on Next Island.
Most people report that the profit you get from doing this roughly equates to sweating. You won't get any skills from it but you have a chance of finding a large spawn of items worth a decent amount of PED. Fruits are usually more valuable than sweat.
Where to walk?
You can walk around pretty much anywhere and have a chance of finding something including right in a town or an outpost. The spawning is more or less random. I would recommend going somewhere remote where you don't think anyone goes much, press “R” to toggle automatic movement, run in a straight line and watch for items spawning on the ground. Once you see one just click to pick it up and you'll get a loot window to confirm that it's yours. You used to have to walk slowly for fruits and stones to appear but as of lately it seems they have updated it to work while running and even driving in a vehicle.
Planet Arkadia and Arkadia Moon seem to have larger average drop sizes of fruits and stones than other planets.
Planet Next Island has a daily mission for gathering 1500 fruits, 500 stones and 250 common dung and another mission for gathering Broken Elysian Technology. Details for those can be found in the "Missions" section below in this guide.
Tweak your Game
There are a couple settings in the game's options that you can adjust to help you find objects on the ground. You can access the options control panel by pressing the "Escape" key.
In the "Camera" tab in the options panel, find the "Maximum Distance" option and use the slider to increase it to it's maximum. This will allow you to move your game camera as far away from your character as the game will allow. Now when you use your scroll wheel to zoom out, you will notice that the camera goes out much farther than before. This will let you see more fruits and stones than you could before.

Now when you use your scroll wheel to zoom out, you will notice that the camera goes out much farther than before. This will let you see more fruits and stones than you could before.
Another setting to change is "Objects Quality" in the "Graphics Advanced" tab of the options menu. Change it to "Safe Mode" and it will stop the grass from appearing in the game world leaving the ground bare and objects easily visible.
Need a boost?
The Hermetic Rings increase you avatar's running speed. This will help you cover more ground and in turn, find more items for the time spent. The high level rings can be very expensive but the lower level models are quite affordable and will give your avatar a boost that can help in other areas like outrunning enemies. If you're serious about collecting fruits and stones you might want to invest in a Hermetic Ring.

Other tips
Some areas seem to have larger drops of fruits and stones than others; this changes from day to day possibly depending on factors like how many fruits and stones have been picked up in that area by others. If by chance you come by a large drop, it may pay to do a grid search of that specific area by walking back and forth in parallel paths to search a larger area rather than just a single path through that area. You can use the coordinates display, landmarks (trees, rocks, etc...) and the repeating ground textures to help with search accuracy.
Fruits, Stones and Common Dung lag. They take a bit longer to appear than the rest of the objects and because of that will appear to spawn late compared to other items, sometimes behind you. Unlike world objects like small rocks and grass, Fruits, Stones and Dung spawn relative to your avatar's position and not the camera.
What to do with your finds?
Again, sell them of course!
Or... Fruits are combined with Sweetstuff to make Nutrio Bars to feed pets. Natural stones are refined into textures for clothing and items. Common Dung is combined with Growth Molecules to create Energized Fertilizer for use by Land Area owners as fertilizer. You can choose to refine your findings with other materials if you wish or just sell them to another player straight away if you want quick PED. It's best not to sell your loot to the first buyer you see to help ensure you get a fair price. Wait until you see multiple buyers and take note of the price they are offering then try to sell your items for the the highest price you found.
Selling on the Auction
Unlike Vibrant Sweat, Stones and Fruits can be sold on the auction. The auction has a 50 PEC (Cent) fee so if you want to make the most of your findings you'll want to keep them until you have large stacks to sell.
All fruits have pretty much the same value regardless of rarity but stones are different. This is because fruits are all refined into the exact same item where stones are made into different items. Stones like Trutun and Rutol are much rarer than the rest. They only each account for around 2 to 3 percent of item spawns and as as such usually sell for a much higher price.
All items that can be sold on the auction have a market value value record that can be accessed by right clicking on that item and selecting the "Market Value" button. This will show you graphs displaying the item's market value and amounts sold for the day, week, month year and decade. This information shows only auction sales, not private trades. If you check the market value of the different kinds of stones, you will notice that they vary widely from each other and the rare ones are generally more valuable.

My Fruit and Stone Log
Below is a spreadsheet log of my fruit and stone collecting activities in Entropia Universe. I've been collecting data on the location, kind and size of all the fruits, stones and dung that I've found in hopes of making something with it one day. The current log is dated 2023-10-31.

Swunter Gatherer
If you're interested in sweating, hunting and gathering fruits and stones you can combine all three of these activities into one simple package.
The firsts thing you need to do is find an area with mobs small enough to sweat by yourself. Select an animal and start sweating, when it attacks you start walking backwards. As you sweat and walk backwards you can look for fruits and stones on the ground. When the mob becomes dry, kill it and return to the spawn area to repeat the process. Try taking a different route every trip to and from the spawn area to cover as much ground as possible. When you feel like you've looked over the entire area you can switch to a different area to keep going. Combine this with hunting missions and you will be operating at your maximum possible efficiency. This process will slow down your hunting as well as your sweat, fruit and stone gathering but will help boost your profits compared to just hunting.

missions
Your mission, should you choose to accept it...
Entropia Universe has many missions and quests that give out rewards upon completion; some of these are aimed towards newcomers. On Calypso, Camp Icarus, Port Atlantis, Half Moon Cove and the Swamp Camps are good places to start finding missions. As you discover new teleporters, check all the NPCs to see if there are any new missions you haven't started yet. I recommend starting them all so any mission related thing you do in the future will count towards it's completion. Some missions ask for the same objectives so you can actually work on more than one at the same time. If you want, check the Entropia Wiki section on missions. They list each mission, where to start them, how to complete them, their rewards...
What are the rewards?
Many of the rewards you get for easy missions are items that can't be traded to other players or the trade terminal but some give you universal ammo, skill increases or other items.
Some missions will give you enough universal ammo to cover what was used in the mission with extra. After you finish all the newcomer missions you should have enough universal ammo to go on a small mining run or hunt with the free equipment. Although some of the gear you can't sell, think of it as money you now don't have to spend. May as well use those items up.
A handful of newcomer mission will give you skill bonuses, some let you choose between different types. All skills can eventually be sold but right now these bonuses will just go to help your gameplay.
The bottom line on missions is that you should start all of them as soon as you find them, complete whatever ones you can and for the harder ones, keep them active to chip away at.
Bonus Daily Missions (Planet Calypso)
Good missions to keep an eye out for on Calypso are the bonus daily hunting missions. Daily missions are mission that can be repeated once a day and are received from Daily Mission Terminals located all over Calypso. Daily missions from here involve hunting, mining and crafting and give Daily Tokens as rewards for completing them. Daily Tokens are untradeable coins that can be exchanged at the Daily Token Trader NPC for items like weapons and tools. Each daily mission will assign you a random type of mob to kill based on the mission level you chose with one Daily Token as a prize for completing it.
Every once in a while the game will give you a Bonus Daily Mission where the prize is 20 Daily Tokens for killing 10 Chirpy, Gibnib or Fugabarba. These are some of the lowest level creatures on the planet, they don't even attack. When shot they will quickly run away forcing you to chase after to kill them. Receiving 20 Daily Tokens for killing 10 mobs that don't attack back is definitely much more profitable than having to kill 30, 40 or 50 regular mobs for 1 Daily Token. Some players check the daily missions every day only to complete the bonus mission.
Fort Troy is a good place to complete these missions because all three of these animals appear just outside the town without many other mobs to get in the way.
Also... If you pay attention; you will notice that all of the three above mentioned animals will always run away in the same direction when attacked regardless of where they are being attacked from. If your avatar doesn't have the speed to keep up in a chase, you can set yourself up ahead of them so they run towards you first.
The rewards for Daily Missions are Daily Tokens and like mentioned previously, they are untradeable. Daily Tokens are exchanged for items from an NPC. The items you get for Daily Tokens are also untradeable. Just because you can't make direct profit in PED off these missions doesn't mean they aren't profitable or helpful. The items that you receive for your tokens can certainly help you in the future. A free gun here means you won't need to buy one later. Look at the skill levels of your current equipment then search for an item that may be the next one up the chain.
The AI War (Planet Rocktropia)
On planet Rocktropia there is a repeatable daily mission called The AI War that awards you 2 PED and provides a gun and ammo. To start the mission speak to the Presidential Recruiter outside of Club Neverdie at: /wp [Rocktropia, 136232, 85004, 238, Presidential Recruiter]
For this mission, you will have to kill 40 creatures called AI that only appear when you kill the nearby vixen (creatures that look like strippers). You can do this two ways. The first way is to sit there and hunt vixen until you make 40 AI appear. Or if you want to save some PED on ammo. Run around the Vixen spawn area until you have a bunch chasing after you then run over to one of the turrets outside of Club Neverdie and let them do the killing. Every so often, a creature called AI will appear, it will be bright yellow, easy to see and not hard to kill. Do that until you have killed 40 AI and the mission is done.
The rewards for completing this mission are 10000 Cheap A$$ Ammo (used by the provided gun), a 2 PED Presidential Credit Card and a Presidential Pay Stub. The Precedential Credit Card can just be sold to a Trade Terminal to get your 2 PED. Another reward is supposedly given for collecting a year's worth of Presidential Pay Stubs.
PTech Extractor Daily Maintenance (Arkadia Moon)
On the Arkadia Moon, talk to Chief Engineer Milo to get your daily mission at: /wp [Arkadia Moon, 10442, 9722, 109, Chief Engineer Milo]
He will send you on a maintenance routine to 10 nearby extractor machines. Their locations are as follows:
/wp [Arkadia Moon, 10960, 10085, 113, Extractor 1]
/wp [Arkadia Moon, 10795, 10065, 113, Extractor 2]
/wp [Arkadia Moon, 10710, 10220, 113, Extractor 3]
/wp [Arkadia Moon, 10480, 10430, 81, Extractor 4]
/wp [Arkadia Moon, 9965, 10240, 109, Extractor 5]

/wp [Arkadia Moon, 10385, 9281, 125, Extractor 10]
You simply go to each location, click on the maintenance terminal inside the small building, and go through each of the three options. You do this 10 times and you're done, easy as that!
You can do the mission two different ways for two different rewards. If you choose to complete the mission without a maintenance plan, you will get 2PED of universal ammo once the mission is complete. You can repeat it every day.
If you choose a maintenance plan, your rewards will be parts to the PTech Hazmat Suit. There are five options, a one, two, three, five, and seven day maintenance plan. It takes a total of 18 days to complete all missions but once you're done you will have a full hazmat suit. The PTech Hazmat Suit is required to complete the PTech Meteorite Samples mission also located on the Arkadia Moon.

Daily Sweat for Silver/Gold Ticket (Next Island)
Planet Next Island has two daily missions for gathering sweat. You can start them by talking to Mr Bottle and Mrs Bottle (the medium and large sweat bottles) on Carnival Island at
/wp [Next Island, 131639, 84651, 102, Mr and Mrs Bottle]
The objectives are simple, gather sweat. You will need to achieve 500 and 1000 successful gathering attempts to complete these missions. 500 for Mrs. Bottle and 1000 for Mr. bottle. They can be done at the same time. Please note that this is the number of successful pulls and not the amount of sweat you will need to gather. Once complete, you go back and trade 500 units of sweat for a Silver Carnival Ticket and 1000 units for a Gold Carnival Ticket. Carnival tickets can be traded in for various prizes on Carnival Island.
Daily Collecting for Bronze Ticket (Next Island)
There is a daily mission on Next Island for gathering Broken Elysian Technology. You can start the mission by talking to Baby Sweat Bottle on Carnival Island. It's right next to Mr. and Mrs. Bottle in the above mentioned mission.
Here you will have to find 15 individual drops of Broken Elysian Technology. They appear randomly on the ground just like fruits and stones. Once complete you have to return to Baby Sweat Bottle and trade 500 units of Broken Elysian Technology for one Bronze Carnival Ticket.
The Codex
The codex, accessible in the action library is a list of most of the creatures in Entropia Universe. When you scan, kill or assist someone (such as by healing) in the killing of a creature it will be added to your codex. As you kill mobs, you will progress through stages where you get skill rewards upon completion. The codex is available for creatures on most of the planets in Entropia Universe. The codex gives you a choice of what skills you get from completing levels and offers a great way to boost your skills.

The oil rigs
Where and What are the Oil Rig?
You may have heard about an Oil Rig or two hidden somewhere on Calypso and possibly on other planets. They randomly produce stacks of Crude Oil (or sometimes other items) and spawn it on the ground somewhere in the vicinity. Anyone is then able to pick it up off the ground.

To make things interesting, Oil Rigs are usually located inside a Player versus Player or PvP zone, where any player can be killed by another player. In these PvP zones other players can kill you but cannot loot your stuff. Besides space, lootable PvP zones can't be entered without using an Anti-Toxic Shot for safety.
Calypso:
There are two Oil Rigs on Planet Calypso
The first is located NorthEast of Ashi around /wp [ Calypso, 83300, 79350, 100, Ashi Oil Rig] and has been there since the days of old. This Oil Rig is normally occupied 24/7, 365 days a year by some tough player or group of players who'll kill you on sight. The chances of getting any oil here are near zero, in reality all you'll get is stuck at the outpost north of there. If you do decide to go take a look, bring a vehicle and repair device of some sort because you'll want it to escape.

There is another (deactivated) Oil Rig located Northeast of Camp Icarus around /wp [Calypso, 64200, 75800, 100 Orthos Oil Rig]. This one was created for new players and still located in a PvP zone. Here players used to cooperate for the most part, stood in line and shared the oil drops. MindArk ended up shutting down this Oil Rig, possibly because it wasn't generating money in wasted ammo and decay that they were hoping for. The Oil Rig is still there and looks like it's running but has become overrun by robots and doesn't drop oil anymore. Who knows, it may become operational again one day.
Arkadia:
Arkadia:
There is an oil rig on planet Arkadia in the middle of the Drillrig PVP zone near /wp [Arkadia, 9900, 11800, 100, Drillrig]. You'll have a better chance of getting some oil from here than on Calypso. The other players probably won't shoot at you but the surrounding creatures may.

Rocktropia has three oil rigs, although one of them drops beer instead of oil.

/wp [Rocktropia, 135375, 88307, 107, New Harlem Docks]
It is easily to accessed from the two nearby teleporters. It is a PvP zone but for the most part people won't shoot you. You will find small drops of one to two units of crude oil scattered around the shipping containers.

Hunt the THING is a separate continent in Rocktropia and can be accessed by teleport. Here, you will find an industrial area that drops units of one or two crude oil. This is also a PvP zone but again, people probably won't shoot you. You will however end up being attacked by wolves but they don't do much damage. There is also a scattering of red exploding barrels which may kill you if you're close when they explode. The revive is located right next to the oil rig so dying here really isn't a problem.

This is also a PvP zone but again, people probably won't shoot you. You will however end up being attacked by wolves but they don't do much damage. There is also a scattering of red exploding barrels which may kill you if you're close when they explode. The revive is located right next to the oil rig so dying here really isn't a problem.
The "beer rig" is located at the Motorhead Stadium at:
/wp [Rocktropia, 136531, 86695, 228, Motorhead Stadium]
The motorhead stadium is not a PvP zone but it is surrounded by large creatures that make it hard to access without flying in. Mobs will usually stay out of the stadium interior but sometimes one may wander in. Motorhead Kegs spawn around a large beer fountain at the center of the stadium. Motorhead Kegs have the same TT value as Crude Oil but they have a higher markup

Toulan:
Planet Toulan's equivalent to an oil rig is called the Narian Temple, it drops Nawa Fragment instead of Crude Oil and is located at:
/wp [Planet Toulan, 134385, 90620, 167, Narian Temple]
/wp [Planet Toulan, 134385, 90620, 167, Narian Temple]
The Narian Temple is in the middle of a small PvP zone. Other players might not shoot at you however you will have to worry about the creatures that spawn in the immediate vicinity. The creatures aren't overly powerful but enough to create an annoyance. Nawa Fragment is a crafting material used in Toulan and has a quite high market value but the creatures that spawn around the rig make it hard to collect them totally for free.
Cyrene:
Planet Cyrene's equivalent to an oil rig is called the Proving Grounds and is a little different from the other planets.
The Proving Grounds are part of Planet Cyrene's extensive competitive PvP battle arena system at The Hub. Players compete here with each other in PvP combat to win tokens that can be exchanged for various items. You can access The Hub by using any teleporter on Cyrene and selecting The Hub in the dropdown menu above the map. From there you use another nearby teleporter to enter The Proving Grounds Entry area. No outside items are allowed in the Hub, all your equipped items and clothing will be removed when you teleport in and only special Hub-specific items will be available inside.
You have to pay 5 Vibrant Sweat each time you enter The Proving Grounds. The arena itself is a collection of rooms filled with obstacles, platforms and walkways. The arena will randomly spawn Reward Tokens (Lime Green) on the ground for players to pick up and presumably fight over. You can be awarded tokens for defeating other players but all you really have to do is run around the room and collect the tokens off the ground.

The rate at which the tokens appear is fairly slow and they aren't overly valuable making this a slow way of earning PED. You will probably see that gathering sweat or fruits and stones is a more productive use of your time. Besides the minimal cost of the sweat it takes to enter the arena, you'll also incur a small amount of decay costs on the clothing and items you have to remove and re-equip every time you enter and exit the Hub.
Other Notes About Oil Rigs:
Most of the easily accessible oil rigs without much PvP action don't pay out a whole lot, which is probably why they don't have much PvP action. Chances are you will find that you can make more PED for the time spent just collecting fruits. But fruits can't power your vehicles or spacecraft. I try to top off my fuel levels each time I visit a planet with an oil rig that's easy to collect from.
The drop rate for oil at an oil rig can change from time to time. The oil rigs can sometimes stop dropping oil altogether for periods of time.
If you have lowered your graphics settings, particularly the "Object Quality" setting mentioned earlier in this guide to assist in seeing fruits and stones. You may want to change that back as it will increase the distance at which you can see oil drops.
Trading
What is trading?
Trading is another pseudo-profession where players buy and sell items and resources in order to make a profit. Usually the idea would be to buy resources from players at a low price to gather a large amount and then sell them in the auction for a higher markup. This would require an initial investment but if you do it right you can definitely make some profit, possibly more than any other profession. Trader or not, it's always a good idea to check the auction for any deals on items that you know you could sell for more at a later date. You won't get any skills for doing this but you can use it to fund other professions.
Where to trade?
The trading capital of the Entropia Universe used to be Twin Peaks, Calypso but the addition of a cross planet trade chat channel [#calytrade] turned it into the game's first real ghost town. People still hang out there sometimes but it's almost useless.
There's always someone buying or selling something on the trade channel. All you need to do is say what you're looking for in the trade chat channel every once in a while. You can also advertise on the local trade channel [#trade] in any populated area. If there are events going on it might be a good idea to find out where they are and go take a look. There may be people with resources they are looking to sell quickly.
Not all trading requires large amounts of PED, sometimes you can find people trying to sell small items you can make profit off of. Some people want to sell stuff cheap for quick PED, all you need to do is put in the time.
Other notes.
Make sure to familiarize yourself with how the game economy works and the values of the items you want to trade because it's easy to lose money buying things for the wrong price. The game allows you to check the market value of items and has charts to see how their value and sales have changed over the last day, week, month, year or decade. These charts only represent auction sales and not Player to Player trades. To see this info, right click on an item and select the "Market Value" option.
Always use the trade chat channel when advertising as people really get annoyed when other players spam the regular chat channel with buying or selling. You don't want potential customers putting you on the ignore list. Anyone who is looking to buy or sell will surely have their trade chat open.
Almost all items and resources in Entropia Universe are fair game for trading however trading Vibrant Sweat, buying it cheap and selling it again will anger some people. For a very long time trading Vibrant Sweat like this was considered a type of scamming by the community. Right now many people do it and it's sort-of accepted, in the end it's the seller who decide what price they will sell at and it's always good to have a place you can quickly sell Sweat if needed... If you do decide to trade Sweat like this expect it to be unpopular with some players and you may be disqualified from selling Sweat during some events.

Other businesses
Entropia Universe is full of opportunity. You can make extra PED by offering useful services to people. Space taxi, healing and vehicle repair services are popular options but I personally know people who've been paid to loot dead mobs for hunters, run supplies to miners in remote areas, and even dance during events. If you don't make any profit you can still get free skills out of it and that can go a long way. Other than that, keep your eyes open for events that may be profitable and new updates that may create short term opportunities. You can do anything you want, exploring is free and there's always someone willing to stand around and talk.
Begging for other players to give you PED and items quite unpopular here in Entropia Universe and unless you want to get blacklisted and muted by a bunch of people, don't do it.

deeds, Shares
& the entropia exchange
What is the Entropia Exchange?
The Entropia Exchange is where you can purchase shares of various virtual businesses including of the Planet Calypso itself. The idea behind the Entropia Exchange is very similar to the real world stock market. These shares pay the owner dividends, a certain percentage of the profit generated by the business invested in. The Entropia exchanged can be accessed by right clicking your PED card in your inventory and clicking on the below icon.

This started in 2011 when 60,000 Calypso Land Deeds were put for sale on the auction. These 60,000 deeds were equal to half of Planet Calypso's land and revenue. Each Land Deed paid out 1/60000 of half the revenue Planet Calypso made every week. When they were first created they were sold over auction for 1000 PED a piece and the price has varied ever since. The land deeds represented a 10x10 meter plot of land somewhere on Calypso and also supposed to grant voting rights in a future political system. Calypso Land Deeds were changed into shares of Calypso Land Deed Trust where they now trade on the Entropia Exchange.
Arkadia Underground Deeds (AUD) and Arkadia Moon Deeds are similar deeds that work in a similar way to Calypso Land Deeds. They are sold by private trade or auction. The amounts they represent and returns you will receive are slightly different.
Why buy shares or deeds?
If you are trying to play Entropia Universe for free, shares or deeds may seem a bit pricey but you can think of it as an investment. Let's face it. There aren't many things in Entropia Universe that will just straight up give you money every week. The payments do vary and have changed over time depending on how well the virtual businesses are doing so you should check what the estimated returns on investment are if you want to buy. With enough shares under your ownership you could make enough to go hunting or mining regularly without needing to do much else. You can also sell the shares at a later time and get your money back, provided that the price hasn't dropped or the stock market crashed. If you do save up enough PED to buy some shares or deeds. Just think, you can make your PED work for you.
There is a useful website that simulates the approximate income you can expect from owning certain amounts of shares and deeds. If you are interested in investing your PED in shares or deeds, I would recommend checking out this website:
